Thoroughly research the destination and its cultural do’s and don’ts before taking the trip. These tips are very helpful when you are stuck in tricky cultural situations. Apart from that, get acquainted with the city virtually and collect as much information as possible to ensure that you make informed decision.

Follow basic safety procedures at a hotel
It is better to know the staff in your hotel so that they can provide you helpful tips to travel safe when you are outside the safety of your hotel. Always take a room close to the elevator but away from the emergency exits for your own safety. Refuse to accept the room if the clerk announces your room number and details loudly.

Pack light and smart
Always pack light so that you are not weighed down by your luggage. Avoid taking anything that is expensive on a vacation so that you don’t risk losing it getting stolen. Take only those items that are absolutely necessary for you on your holiday.

Get acquainted with your surroundings
