Welcome To One World Trade Center
One World Trade Centre is the name given to the building that forms the main part of the complex called the World Trade Center in New York City. This building stands out at the fourth rank when the tallest buildings in the world are ranked, but it bags the first position when buildings are ranked in the Western Hemisphere.
The structure has 104 standard floors, although it has just 94 stories. The building is also widely known as the Freedom Tower. Together with the spire, it touches a height of 1,776 feet, the year in which the United States Declaration of Independence was agreed on.
Work on the One World Trade Centre was initiated in August 1966. The task was completed in record time, thanks to the use of prefabricated components. It became inhabitable in December 1970. The tower had the most number of floors, 110, in a contemporary building.
The new complex is being built with an effort to preserve the memories of the original World Trade Center complex that was destroyed in the terrorist attack in September 2001. The original World Trade Centre complex had two prominent buildings known as the Twin Towers. The North Tower was called One World Trade Centre, and the South Tower was known as Two World Trade Centre.
The terrorist attack on New York in 2001 saw to a destruction of the twin towers. But they have been erected again. The One World Trade Centre found its first tenant in an employee of Conde Nast, a mass media company based in New York. Employees from other companies soon moved in too.
